Dr. Bassirou Sani Gaoh, an alumnus of the West Africa Centre for Crop Improvement (WACCI), University of Ghana has been appointed as the Director of the European Union Chair of Digital Agriculture at the National Agency for Information Society (ANSI), Niger. Dr. Gaoh will be responsible for fostering partnerships with national and international agencies and EU countries to develop locally adapted digital technologies for agriculture in Niger and sub-Saharan Africa.
Dr. Bassirou Sani Gaoh who was a member of the PhD Plant Breeding graduating class of 2020 researched on “Genetic Studies on Grain Iron and Zinc concentration and Agronomic Traits in West African Pearl Millet [Pennisetum glaucum (L.) R. Br.] Germplasm”.
