WACCI WELCOMES 2021/2022 NATIONAL SERVICE PERSONS

The West Africa Centre for Crop Improvement (WACCI) is pleased to welcome Samuel Anim-Opare, Emmanuella Nyamekye Aggrey, Ruth Gladstone and Francis Appiah Koranteng as national service persons for the 2021/2022 academic year.

The interns were selected after coming out as the top-performing candidates following a round of group interviews and engagement sessions with the administrative staff of WACCI. Every year, the Centre recruits national service persons for on-the-job training and exposure useful to their career development.

 

Mr. Samuel Anim-Opare – Assistant to the Finance Officer

Samuel studied Business Administration and majored in Accounting at the University of Ghana Business School.  He is also a student at the Institute of Chartered Accountants, Ghana (Level One). He enjoys listening to good music and is excited to join WACCI. Samuel sees his new role as an opportunity to practice what he’s learnt in school. He is also eager to learn first-hand how the financial administration of institutions like WACCI are handled.

 

 

 

 

 

Miss Emmanuella Nyamekye Aggrey – Executive Assistant to the Director

Miss Emmanuella studied Political Science and Information Studies at the University of Ghana. She will be responsible for managing the day-to-day activities of the Director. Emmanuella hopes her time at WACCI will help improve her work ethic, build her character and give her the opportunity to be mentored. She enjoys writing short novels, watching game shows and reading in her free time.  

 

 

 

 

 

Miss Ruth Gladstone – Resource Mobilization Consultant

Ruth is an entrepreneur and a storyteller. She studied Psychology and English at University of Ghana, Legon. Her role as Resource Mobilization Consultant at WACCI will involve assisting in developing strategies to boost the resource mobilization drive of WACCI, report writing, proof-reading and editing documents. Ruth sees her new roles as an opportunity to utilize her writing and communication skills.

 

 

 

 

 

Mr. Francis Appiah Koranteng – Field Research Assistant

Francis studies Agricultural Science at the University of Ghana. He is confident in his ability to play a key role in improving the quality of our food system in the country and beyond. Francis believes that with conscious effort, determination and divine support, it will be a reality.
