Ahiamadia Ivy Odi

Ivy Odi Ahiamadia was born in the Greater Accra Region of Ghana. She had her primary education at New Hope School, Accra and continued with her senior high education at Achimota School where she read Agricultural Science.

She completed her bachelor’s degree at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology where she read Agriculture. Her interest in research made the Department of Crop and Soil Sciences retain her to do her National Service as a Teaching and Research Assistant at the Pathology unit under the Supervision of Dr. Charles Kwoseh. She assisted in teaching and research into various diseases that could affect the quality of seeds thereby reducing the yield potential of the seed. This heightened her interest in pursuing postgraduate studies in Seed Science in order to promote the use of healthy seeds.

She is currently reading Master of Philosophy in Seed Science and Technology at the West Africa Centre for Crop Improvement, University of Ghana. Her enrollment at WACCI is a dream come true and is very grateful to WACCI and German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) for the opportunity. She believes she will be a great addition to improving the seed industry in Ghana and the world at large.
