Esther Nana Animah

Esther Nana Animah is my name, am a native of Sefwi Wiawso in the Western North Region of Ghana. I had my undergraduate education at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology.

Agriculture is one of the sectors that needs maximum attention for economic growth; I realized this fact when I was in the Junior High School. Since that time, I have developed a strong passion for Agriculture and this propelled me to pursue General Agriculture at the Senior High School and subsequently Bachelor of Science in Agriculture as my undergraduate program. After my first degree, I was motivated by the experience I had in my area of specialization (Agronomy) to move a step further in the Academic ladder and master in Seed Science and Technology because the seed is the basic material you need for the next generation of crops.

Moreover, getting quality seed is a big challenge in this country so I thought it wise to acquire more knowledge in this area; in order to help solve this challenge. I strongly believe that if farmers get access to quality seeds and adhere to the good agronomic practices attached to these seeds; it will go a long way to boost our yield and contribute greatly to food security in Ghana and Africa as a whole.

I am grateful to God and WACCI for granting me this great opportunity to realise my dream of being a Seed Scientist.
