Isaac Koomson Appiah-Asare

Mr. Koomson Appiah-Asare Isaac is a quick-witted and hardworking individual who has adept knowledge in Agriculture and Biotechnology. Having had his fundamentals in Agricultural science at the senior high school level (Winneba Senior High School, Ghana, Winneba), he continued to pursue Agricultural Biotechnology due to his strong affinity for agriculture and modern biotechnology, and the passion to improve crop plants for the development of the agricultural sector in Ghana.

Mr. Koomson had his Bachelor’s degree at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology. In addition, he worked on Molecular Characterization of Taro using Simple Sequence Repeats markers at the Bachelor’s level. Owing to his academic research pursuits, Mr. Koomson served as a Teaching and Research Assistant at the aforementioned university. 

His entrepreneurial prowess saw him win Ask Network’s entrepreneurial competition with a brilliant idea of producing incubators locally and extending beyond the shores of Ghana. He is also a self-taught still graphic designer. Mr. Koomson has practiced subsistence farming for about 11 years; cultivating mainly biennial and annual crops.

His affection for academic research made him pursue a further degree in MPhil. Seed Science and Technology with West Africa Centre for Crop Improvement, University of Ghana, Legon. Mr. Koomson aspires to becoming a research scientist and a professor.
