Lisa’s long-term commitment and contributions to the Plant Breeding Department, and across the University deserves special recognition. For over forty years, Prof. Earle has played a significant role in plant breeding and biotechnology at Cornell, as a researcher, professor, and chair of the Department of Plant Breeding and Genetics. Her interests are the use of plant tissue culture and gene transfer techniques to improve crop plants and the appropriate deployment and public acceptance of materials altered in these ways. She has also been active in department, college and university service, and has been successful in obtaining support for graduate student fellowships.
