We are delighted to invite you to the inaugural Advancing Frontiers Conference, a virtual gathering on March 24 2026 showcasing West Africa–led research and innovation in Plant and Agricultural Sciences and hosted by WACCI, University of Ghana, BGRI, Cornell University and researchers at LISH, Harvard University.

Theme: Research to Innovation in West African Plant & Agricultural Sciences At AFC, PhD scientists and researchers share cutting-edge work, receive diverse expert feedback, and connect with peers, policymakers, funders, and industry.

To participate in the conference, all scientists should register and submit a proposal, for which they will also receive feedback. Top proposals will be invited to present during the conference and considered for the inaugural Emerging Research Awards. As part of this conference, we are also conducting a research study to understand how different inputs influence research outcomes for researchers in the region. This will help us identify the best ways to support researchers in the region. The study will involve using the data you provide for conference activities - registration, proposal submission, feedback and participation in the conference, and an additional survey at submission to understand researcher needs. We will kindly seek consent from you at the beginning of registration to use this information. Participation in the research is optional and not required to participate in the conference.
