About

Dr. Agyemang Danquah is a seasoned plant scientist and educator specializing in genetics, molecular biology, biotechnology and crop improvement. With a distinguished academic background and leadership roles, he has spearheaded transformative agricultural programmes, secured over $15 million in research funding, authored over 60 peer-reviewed articles and books, and mentored over 50 graduate students. Dr. Danquah’s work bridges research, policy, and industry, with a focus on food security and sustainable agriculture in Ghana, Africa and beyond. His research in tomatoes at the University of Ghana led to the release of the first tomato hybrids in Ghana, which seeds are currently being multiplied with support from the Ministry of Food and Agriculture for commercialization. Dr. Danquah’s vision is to empower African farmers and communities through scientific innovation, ensuring sustainable food systems for future generations. His dedication to advancing science, education, and policy underscores his profound impact on agriculture and food security in Africa.
