Prof. Eric Y. Danquah, Founding Director, the West Africa Centre for Crop Improvement (WACCI), University of Ghana, has been recognised as one of the 100 Most Impactful Educational Personalities in Africa – 2025 by the Global Skills Hub.
The award was presented at the 4th Africa Education Summit, held at the University of Professional Studies, Accra. The summit, themed “Advancing EdTech Integration in African Education: A Unified Roadmap for Action,” brought together key stakeholders to explore innovative, technology-driven approaches to strengthening education systems across the continent
The recognition celebrates Prof. Danquah’s remarkable contributions to advancing education and his transformative impact in strengthening learning, leadership, and educational development across Africa.
Under his visionary leadership, WACCI has become a beacon of agricultural innovation in Africa, training students from across the continent, developing high-yielding and climate-resilient crop varieties, and driving cutting-edge research that strengthens food and nutrition security throughout the region.
