Barbara Dodoo-Arhin Appointed Assistant Registrar at WACCI

Mrs. Barbara Dodoo-Arhin has been assigned by the University of Ghana Registrar to the West Africa Centre for Crop Improvement (WACCI) as the Assistant Registrar. She joined the WACCI team on Monday, November 1, 2021.

“My new role as Assistant Registrar is exciting and challenging as I happen to be the first Assistant Registrar at WACCI. I expect to learn more since WACCI has a totally different administrative structure from my former office”, she said.

Barbara was formerly a Principal Administrative Assistant at the Public Affairs Directorate of the University of Ghana (UG) where her work focused extensively in public relations and events management. Prior to her joining UG, she worked as a Senior Administrative Assistant at ATL FM at the University of Cape Coast (UCC) where she was the Special Reporter for the UCC campus community and wrote scripts. Barbara has also worked as a presenter, DJ and broadcast journalist. Despite her extensive background, Barbara doesn’t believe she has that one big professional accomplishment.  Instead, she prefers to always ensure the people she interacts with are left positively impacted.

“The satisfaction from the work I do for others is an achievement for me”, she said.

Barbara earned her Bachelors and Master’s degrees in Education at UCC. She is currently pursuing an MPhil degree in Higher Education from the same university and has a diploma in Communication Studies. She is also a member of the Institute of Public Relations and the Ghana Journalists Association (Cape Coast branch). Barbara hopes to make a positive impact at WACCI. In her free time, she loves reading, singing and working out.

Welcome to WACCI, Barbara!
