WACCI Inaugurates a new Bioinformatics lecture room

Professor Kwame Offei, Pro-Vice-Chancellor for Academic and Student Affairs, University of Ghana has inaugurated a new facility to be used as a bioinformatics platform and a lecture room at the West Africa Centre for Crop Improvement (WACCI). In a short ceremony at WACCI, the Director of the Centre, Professor Eric Y. Danquah said the facility when fully functional will serve as a platform for accessing and analyzing genomic data through high performing computer servers installed at the Centre and the World Wide Web for research purposes. The Provost of the College of Basic and Applied Sciences (CBAS), Professor Ebenezer O. Owusu in a short remark commended the management of WACCI for providing excellent facilities for teaching and learning. Present at the ceremony were staff, students and some officials of the College including Professor John Ofosu-Anim, Dean, School of Agriculture, Dr. Christiana Amoatey, Head, Department of Crop Science, and Mr. Emmanuel Baidoo, College Secretary, CBAS.
