WACCI Welcomes New Communications Team Lead

The West African Centre for Crop Improvement is pleased to announce that Miss Enyonam Damesi has joined the team as Communications Manager/ Communications Team Lead. She brings on board nearly a decade of experience in communications, international development, and stakeholder engagement from across Europe and the African continent.

Miss Damesi is passionate about climate sustainability, food security, and technological innovation. She believes in the role of research and innovation in bridging the developmental gap between Africa and the rest of the world. As a result, she has consistently pursued career paths that allow her to contribute her global expertise to efforts that bridge the developmental gap in significant ways. She brings all her knowledge and experience to support WACCI’s mandate of promoting crop research and climate-safe agriculture across Africa.

Enyonam joins WACCI at a pivotal moment in our growth. The centre has expanded its mandate to include agriculture innovation and entrepreneurship and will support young people to pursue entrepreneurship and innovation opportunities in agriculture and Agritech. Miss Damesi will lead efforts to widen our stakeholder base to include young people in non-traditional agriculture and galvanize funding and support from public and private institutions to support the program.

Miss Damesi’s previous roles in advertising, diplomacy and international development will be instrumental to WACCI’s efforts to rally stakeholders across government, private sector, and the non-profit sector to support our work. There is no better time to invest in science-backed agriculture than now, when the threat of climate change looms and governments are charged with the dual role of protecting their citizens and the planet.

We are excited to have Miss Enyonam Damesi join our team and call on all our stakeholders to accord her all the necessary considerations.
